Byerly Seeks Re-election to Lock Haven City Council
LOCK HAVEN – Incumbent Lock Haven City Council member Doug Byerly announced on Friday he plans to seek re-election this year.
His candidacy announcement:
“Douglas Byerly, a resident of the city of Lock Haven since 1999 and currently serving in the final year of his first term on Lock Haven City Council, is announcing his intention to run for re-election for the same seat in the May 2019 Primary Election.
“Byerly, a registered Republican, has worked with the other members of City Council, former and current City Managers Rich Marcincavage and Greg Wilson to operate the City budgets in a responsible and efficient manner while also working to bring positive and proactive development of the City overall.
“He has been involved in various city and county boards for many years including serving on the Lock Haven Flood Protection Authority, the Clinton County Historical Society Board and on the board for the Susquehanna Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Additionally, he has served on the Clinton County Planning Commission, as a trustee for the Ross Library, as an Election Inspector for the Lock Haven 3rd Ward and on the Leadership Clinton County Advisory Board. He is also a 2003 graduate of the Leadership program.
“Byerly is a 1978 graduate of Line Mountain High School, a 1984 alum of Shippensburg University with a B.S degree in History and a 1999 graduate of West Chester University with a Master of Science in Administration, Sport Administration concentration.
“A proud holder of the Eagle Scout rank in the Boy Scouts, he has worked in education, administration and fundraising for over 30 years including time at Lock Haven University, Bucknell University and Penn College. Currently employed at the World Campus of Penn State University as an Admission Counselor with a focus on the university’s Business-to-Business Partnerships, Byerly has also been a long time sports radio announcer at both the high school and college level, most recently covering Jersey Shore High School football on The Bear Country Sports Network. He lives on Susquehanna Avenue with his wife, Lisa (Zerbe) and four family pets.
