Lady Bucks Open Season, Edging Williamson, 36-33

GALETON – The Lady Bucks opened their season against Williamson in the Galeton Tip-Off Tournament, edging the Lady Tigers, 36-33.

Bucktail held a slim 15-14 lead at the break, then fended off Williamson down the stretch for the 3-point victory.

Leading the way for the Lady Bucks were: Myka Poorman with 10 points, followed by Emily Cross, 9; Julie Green, 8 and Tessa Cowfer, 5. Emma Poorman and Emma Intallura each had a basket to their credit on the night.

The tournament hosts, Galeton, rolled up a 51-17 win over Austin to make the finals where Bucktail will challenge at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8.
