Bruno New Head Coach for Buck Hoops

By Jim Morgan

FARWELL – The Bucktail Bucks boys basketball team will be lead by their new head coach Gene Bruno. A former Buck hoop standout, Bruno had a successful coaching career at Milton High School and at Penn College.

Coaching assistants are Lamar Ballard, Travis Fantaskey and Mike Charcalla. Volunteer coach Josh Knauff will be giving a helping hand to this new era of Bucks basketball.

Bucktail is bringing back a hand full of players from last season’s 6-16 squad. They are seniors Alex Intallura, Gavin Becker and juniors Devin Serafini, Gabriel Conway, Liam Dwyer and sophomore Tony Pentz, all returning from last year varsity squad. Players looking to give a helping hand are seniors Richard Perry, Trevor Burrows and junior Darrin Bruno. The rest of the team will be mostly freshmen in Kayden Friese, Dylan Cross, Ty Snyder and Zack Pick.

Coach Bruno should be able to find the boys to run on offense and defense. Coach Bruno likes to be able to run with seven to eight players with his offense and defense as he will be looking to press more often.

The Bucks are opening up at the annual Cowanesque Valley Tip-Off tourney on Friday and Saturday. On Tuesday, Dec. 11 they will travel to Muncy for a 6 p.m. JV tip-off, varsity to follow..
