LHU’s Jackson Named to 2018 AFCA DII All-America Team

LOCK HAVEN – Standout tight end Jalen Jackson (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) of the Lock Haven University football team has been named an All-American. The sophomore earned a spot on the 2018 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II All-America Second Team offense. Jackson is the first LHU football player to ever earn a spot on the AFCA All-America Team.

Jackson (6-0, 215 lbs) was without question, one of the premier tight ends in all of NCAA Division II football during the 2018 season.The dynamic offensive threat hauled in seven TD catches on the season.

The speedy and agile tight end who is known for his ability to run after the catch and also his exceptional blocking ability, recorded a total of 44 catches for 537 yards. Jackson averaged 48.8 receiving yards per game. His seven TDs ranked seventh overall in the PSAC among all players during the regular season and he capped the season with a three-touchdown game in the thrilling win over Gannon in the snow-covered season-finale on the road.

Most recently, Jackson was named to the 2018 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-Super Region 1 First Team. The region’s top player at the tight end position was also a 2018 All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) First Team selection.
