Not Out of the Water Yet: Keystone Central Schools Closed Wednesday

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – “Flooding throughout the area” has prompted the Keystone Central School District to close all schools for a second consecutive day, Wednesday.

The announcement came late Tuesday afternoon as parts of Clinton and Centre Counties continue to deal with lowland flooding. Few areas were more impacted than parts of Bald Eagle Township, including the Cottage area along Bald Eagle Creek and along Hogan Boulevard where visitors to Millbrook Plaza Tuesday evening had to drive through surface water and the nearby Draketown Road was closed to through traffic.

Keystone Central schools were to reopen on Tuesday after an all-clear on surface mold discovered at the Central Mountain Middle School and Woodward Elementary a week ago but the threat of flooding brought the closing announcement late Monday afternoon. Tuesday’s announcement from the district said all offices will also be closed on Wednesday. All sporting events and other school activities scheduled for Wednesday have been called off.
