Larry J. “Butch” Watson – Obituary
Larry J. “Butch” Watson, 77, of Pennsylvania Ave., Mill Hall, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Lock Haven Hospital.
He was born in Bellefonte on May 26, 1941, the son of the late John “Jack” Watson and Emma “Frances” Bowes Watson.
Butch was a 1959 graduate of Lock Haven High School and obtained his Bachelor’s degree in education from Lock Haven Teacher’s College.
He was married to the former Kay Sigmund, whom preceded him in death in 2003.
Butch retired from Keystone Central School District after 30 years of service as a sixth grade teacher at Woodward Elementary.
He was an avid sports fan and cherished the time he spent with his grandson.
He is survived by a son, Casey Watson of Lock Haven; a daughter, Marisha (Ivan) Cruz of Lock Haven; a sister, Nancy (Vern) Poorman of Florida; a grandson, Jovanny Karlos Cruz of Lock Haven; and his companion, Margaret S. Yahn of Mill Hall.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 1:00p.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745 with Tracey Showers officiating.
Private burial will take place at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 11a.m. until the time of the service.
