SPCA’s Initial Furry 5K Run Fun for All

CASTANEA TOWNSHIP – The Clinton County SPCA had its first-ever Furry 5K run on Saturday at the Castanea Fire Company Picnic Grounds. The event drew about 70 participants, with many bringing their furry family members.

Bryce Gray, 15, of Flemington, left, above, was first to cross the finish line at the Furry 5K race, followed by Kristen Cantor, at right, from Williamsport. Third place went to Jan Horn of Cogan Station, who ran with her dog, Dutchess Lucy. Jan’s son Nate, came in fourth.

There also was a one mile dog jog as part of the event. The SPCA also had some of the shelter dogs at the race for people to check out, and several pet-related vendors.
