Paper Lion Kicking Cardboard Boat Butt at Riverfest

LOCKPORT – The 23rd annual Riverfest is into its third day at the Lockport Boat Launch Park and Saturday’s highlight was the annual Lynne Ramm Memorial Cardboard Boat Race. And as the races neared completion, it appeared a new entry could emerge as champion.
Paper Lion, representing the Great Island Presbyterian Church, was sweeping every division it entered as of mid-race, representing a serious challenge to longtime champion The Duck.

The annual Duck Derby with a $1,000 first price is scheduled for later Saturday afternoon and the Riverfest will see fireworks at 10 p.m. The Riverfest features music, plus food and arts and crafts, the annual fundraiser benefitting Woodward Township recreation and the Dunnstown Fire Company
