bucks-baseballFARWELL – St. John Neumann Regional Academy came to town to face the Bucks in the first round of the District 4 a baseball playoffs. Delayed by the new traffic patterns on Rt. 120, the Golden Knights did not let their travels influence their play.

Led by some superb pitching from Ryan Reid and some fortunate clutch small ball play, St. John Neumann managed to score a 3-0 win.

Bucktail answered back with some workman-like pitching from senior veteran, Chuck Probst and a bit of their own version of small ball but were not as fortunate.

Reid was on his way to a perfect game for five innings and managed to stifle the heart of the Buck’s lineup. Though the Bucks did attempt their own version of small ball, they could not string enough offense together to score any runs.

Even with the loss the coaching staff and team were not overly dismayed as it was a tough, well-played game by both teams. The Bucks ended their 2014 season with a 11-6 record.
