Record Amount of County Tourism/Recreation Grants Announced
LOCK HAVEN – The Clinton County Commissioners have announced the county’s 2018 Tourism and Recreation Grants.
A total of 14 local organizations were awarded $45,000 to support tourism/recreation-related events and activities. Funds for this program come from the county’s room tax, a five percent tax on overnight lodging, which is transferred from the county to the Clinton County Tourist Promotion Agency. This year’s funding is the highest ever awarded.
The grant program is administered through a partnership between the TPA and the county. The review committee for the applications includes Tourism Director Julie Brennan, County Planner Katie de Silva, and County Commissioner Pete Smeltz.
