Four Former ‘Cats are USCAA National Champions

DUBOIS – It took two games both the Penn State-DuBois baseball team earned the USCAA Small College Baseball title today. Their third consecutive title in this tournament.
PUS-DuBois were edged by Apprentice College 4-3 in the first game forcing the double-elimination ‘if’ game that followed where PUS-DuBois got their bats in gear and racked up a 10-2 win over Apprentice for the championship.
All four players on the PSU-DuBois roster that hail from Central Mountain made significant contributions .
Clayton Butler led the charge of the former ‘Cats with 2 RBI double in the first game, then a solo homer and a pair of singles for 3 RBI in the second game.
Talon Falls contributed a double in the first game along with a single and a double in the second game.
Toner Corl had a pair of hits in the first game including a double then matched that effort in the second game, a base hit and a double.
Bryce Hanley came on the mound in the second game as a closer giving up a lone hit but retiring the side without issue.
PSU-DuBois closes out their 2018 campaign with a 31-11 record.
