Tough Day in Track and Field for Depleted Wildcats

SUNBURY – It was a tough day for the both Central Mountain harrier teams, on the road at Shikellamy today. Both CM squads were down today with key members missing the meet due to illness. The Wildcat boys’ squad fell to the Braves, 138-12 while the Lady Wildcats came up short against Shik, 104-37.

Hunter Barger placed second in both the 100M and 200M dash events timing out at 12.94 sec. in the 100 and 27.03 in the 200. Jonna Diehl placed third in the 100M high hurdles crossing the line in 17.29.

Heidi Emel placed third in the 1600M run stopping the clock at 9:11.9. Alyssa Lockner picked up a first place finish in the 800M run in 2:25.6 with Madison Myers close behind to capture third in 2:29.5. Ashley Kline picked up first place points in the 300M hurdles stoping the clock at 50.29.

In the field Lady Wildcats Amelia McCloy set new high jump mark for Central Mountain when she cleared the bar in the high jump at 5’5″ and Sadie McCaleb set the new javelin mark for CM with a throw of 131’9″. Skylar Falls also picked up team points in the javelin, clearing 86’3″ for a third place finish.

Sarah Probst picked up third place honor in the shot put with a throw of 27’7″. In the discus, Sarah Probst placed second with a throw of 91’1″ and Makah Charles placed third with a throw of 88’5″.

In the girls’ long jump it was Mackenzie Walsh cleared 14’5″. Jocelyn Renninger placed third in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 7’6″.

It was a much tougher day for the illness depleted Wildcat boys’ squad with Kenny Jones placing third in the 100M dash crossing the line in 11.70 sec. Owen Rinker placed second in the 400M run stopping the clock in 55.25. Bryce Gray earned second place honors in the 3200M run with a time of 11.43. Will Confer placed third in the shot put, clearing 37′.5″. Bryce Neff finished third in the high jump, clearing the bar at 5’6″. Joseph picked up second place points with an effort that cleared 11’6″.

Next up for the Wildcat harriers is another trip back to Shikellamy High School on Saturday, May 12, 2018 for the PHAC Invitational.
