Candace L. “Candy” Long – Obituary
NORTH BEND – Candace L. “Candy” Long, 67, 37 Left Branch Road, North Bend, PA died March 13, 2018 at the Bucktail Medical Center, S. Renovo, PA. Born May 20, 1950 in Renovo, PA she was the daughter of the late John F. Winkelman and Michelina I. Mazzulla Eschenbach. On September 26, 1970 she married Richard J. “Dick” Long who died July 19, 2014.
Candy was a C.N.A. for 30 + years at the Bucktail Medical Center and for 5-8 years was a Therapeutic Recreation Assistant at the Medical Center. She was a member of the Class of 1968 of the Bucktail High School, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Renovo. Candy coached the Midget League Cheerleaders, was a former Girl Scout Leader, loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, she also loved animals, especially rabbits which she raised. She was an Independent Consultant for Avon, Home Interiors and Scentsy and she loved QVC!!
She is survived by two daughters, Debra (Paul) Risley, North Bend, PA and Mary (Jeremy) Zuback, Renovo, PA, two sons, Brian (Heather) Long, North Bend and Joseph Long, South Renovo, PA , two step-daughters, Laurie McCauley and Margaret DeWolfe, one step-Son, Rick Prindle, four sisters, Victoria Spahr, Cenie Winkelman both of Renovo, PA, Crystal Newman of Lock Haven, PA and Suzanne (Keith) Davies, Levittown, PA, four brothers, John (Norma) Winkelman II, George Winkelman, Francis (Rose) Winkelman and Michael (Joy) Winkelman all of Renovo, PA, sixteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by, two sisters Shirley Cassett and Debra K. Keller and one brother, Chris Summerson.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 16, 2018 at 1 PM in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Renovo, PA with Fr. Michael Wolfe officiating. Interment, St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Hyner, PA. Luncheon to follow.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bucktail Medical Center Activities Department or the St. Joseph Church Building Fund through the funeral home.
