The total numbers are not in yet, but the first numbers show that so far they have collected $21,122, this number doesn’t include any of the money that was collected on the day of the walk; those totals will be in within days. The walk itself ran from Hanna Park went on to Main Street with walkers heading back to Hanna Park from around Triangle Park. The local boy scouts were on hand to hand out water to walkers and police to handle traffic. Walkers were treated to pizza and cupcakes, Lowes donated wooden crafts for kids to paint, Corey Bauer was on hand to DJ, there were baskets to take a chance at your hand of winning. Also, last weekend Silver Shamrock Tattoos held a special day to raise funds. Freddie Wadsworth the owner donated $20 of the $40 charge for any colored awareness ribbon tattoo. Speeches were made on the day of the walk and one father whose 20 year old daughter suffers from CF said that researcher’s are very close to a cure, they have medicines for certain types of CF but researchers are hopeful that by 2017 then can expand the help available.
