James R. Gallagher, 82, of Flemington passed away Monday, May 5, 2014 at Gatehouse Hospice, Williamsport.

He was born in Lock Haven on November 22, 1931, the son of the late Russell James and Florence Edna Hufford Gallagher.

Jim was a 1949 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School.

Jim was a lifetime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lock Haven, serving as an Usher for many years.

He served in the U.S. National Guard during the Korean Conflict.

On November 14, 1953 in Lock Haven he married the former Donna R. Leone, who survives.

Jim worked as a Produce Manager at A & P Grocery for 32 years until 1982. He then worked at the Pennsylvania College of Technology, retiring in 1994.

Jim was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Lock Haven and a lifetime member of the Lock Haven American Legion.

He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and biking.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by a son, Christopher (Amy) Gallagher of Lock Haven; three daughters, Teri Laird of Washingtonville, Vicky (Bill) Penton of Renovo and Kimberly Gallagher of Danville; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Jane Kessinger and a nephew, James Kessinger.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 310 W. Water St., Lock Haven with Rev. Father Joseph Orr officiating.

Friends and family will be received at the Moriarty Funeral Home & Crematory, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lock Haven Catholic School Endowment Fund, 311 W. Water St., Lock Haven, Pa 17745.
