Palovcsik Inducted

palovcsik-140427HARRISBURG – Long-time mid-state wrestling supporter Norm Palovcsik was inducted into the Pennsylvania chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame on Sunday. He was presented his award by two “Distinguished Members” of the National Hall of Fame, former Wilkes College coach John Reese, left, and legendary Oklahoma wrestler Dan Hodge, right. Palovcsik was recognized with the hall’s lifetime service to wrestling award for his varied contributions to the sport over his lifetime. They included publication of the Pennsylvania Wrestling Round-Up, wrestling at Clearfield High School and Penn State, and later officiating and coaching. He most recently serves as director of the noted King of the Mountain wrestling tournament at Central Mountain High School. In his acceptance speech Palovcsik thanked his former coaches and family members. Record photo – Tom Elling
