Hyner Challenge Isn’t Always About Finishing First

HYNER – Ray Werts, WCSA president, of West Renovo finished the 50k on Saturday in just a little over 12 hours. (The finish line clock is showing the time for the 25k race which started two hours after the 50k start.)

When Ray finished, most people had already left the WCSA to head home. Craig Fleming shook his hand and said, “You missed a great time,” (meaning the post race party). Werts just shook Craig’s hand, smiled, and said, “I didn’t miss a thing”. I’ll remember this moment for the rest of my life.”  Photo Provided
