Codes Violation Notice for Town Tavern
Portion of City Alley Remains Closed
LOCK HAVEN – City police Wednesday were to serve a “notice of violation” on the owners of a Bellefonte Avenue property where a back wall fell in earlier this month, blocking off a portion of Willards Alley.
City code and zoning officer Cyndi Walker said Terry and Dolores Mantle, owners of the vacant Town Tavern building on Bellefonte Avenue, failed to properly respond to a city code emergency order issued after the back wall collapse in early April.
The deadline passed on Monday of this week for the Mantles to provide the city with a code-required repair plan from a structural engineer; the next phase was the mid-week issuance of the notice of violation of the city’s property maintenance codes.
Meanwhile a section of the alley that empties onto Bellefonte Avenue remains blocked with city barricades, bricks from a portion of the back of the building littering the alleyway.
