Blue-White Game Saturday
Walker Switched to Linebacker
UNIVERSITY PARK — The Penn State football team has its annual Blue-White Game at Beaver Stadium Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and area football fans can look for Central Mountain grad Von Walker at a third new position in the span of less than one year.
Walker is involved in his first spring workouts as a “run-on” at Penn State, having reported to the program and school in late June of last year.
Football sources tell The Record that Walker was switched from safety to outside linebacker at the start of spring drills last month and currently is taking repetitions with the second team.
Last fall Walker had been a back-up running back until a late season switch to the secondary. He earned a letter as a member of several Nittany Lion special teams, a position he continues to hold through spring ball.

The 5-11 Walker now weighs 210 pounds, an addition of 20 pounds from a year ago. He is expected to wear number 25, his fall jersey number, on Saturday.
The admission-free Blue-White Game will see a fan autograph session from 10:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Beaver Stadium. Players will be permitted to sign one item per person to give as many fans as possible an opportunity to meet the squad.
Stadium gates A and B will open at 10:30 a.m., gates C, D and F will open at 12 p.m. Parking lots open at 8 a.m.; there is no charge for parking.
