Keystone 9-11 All-Stars Roll to 15-5 Win over Williamsport

BEECH CREEK – The Keystone 9-11 All-Stars got off to a great start by defeating Williamsport Area 15-5 in first round action of the District 12 tournament.

As the visiting team, Keystone jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the top of the first inning and never let Williamsport threaten their lead after that.

Keystone tacked on 3 more runs in second and third innings plus 2 more in the fourth inning. Williamsport did respond by scoring one run in each of the first innings and plated two more in the bottom of the fourth inning with the game ending under the 10-run mercy rule.

Leading the effort was Elek Fravel going 3-for-4 with a homer and 4 RBI. Gardner Fravel was 2-for-4 while Cayden Culvey contributed an RBI double. Connor Foltz, Brady Myers and Wyatt Kramer each had an RBI single in the game.

On the mound, Myers worked the first three innings 3 runs on four hits and recording 4 strikeouts. Elek Fravel took over the pitching duties in the fourth inning and Nate Wian came and struck out the final batter of the game.

Next up for the 9-11 All-Stars, is a trip to Newberry on Friday, July 7, 2017 to face the winner of the Loyalsock vs. Newberry game that was also played today.
