Three New Eagle Scouts Honored
RENOVO– Three young men were given one of the highest achievements in Boy Scouts, Jonathan Probst, Mason Johnson and Tristan Schelb. They received their Eagle Scout honor in front of their family and friends at a banquet for them at the Renovo Fire Hall.
Along their way to get their Eagle Scout honor, each one of them had to do Projects to show their leadership, each one of the projects took countless hours, and help from their fellow Scouts, family and friends, to achieve their projects.
Jonathan’s project was painting the basement, and the outside of the Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, where all the Scout troop meetings are held. Jonathan has achieved to accumulate 32 merit badges in his 10 years of Scouting. Presenter of his awards, were his uncle and aunt; Bill and Sherry Probst. His Father John, and Grandmother Doris Teti were also present.
Mason’s Project was cleaning up the lower lot of the Renovo Fire Department. Over the year’s Mason has been able to achieve 32 merit badges, of his 6 years of scouting, 4 of which he attained perfect attendance. Presenting for Mason were his uncle and aunt; Jimmy and Joan Risley. Also close were his parents Dennis and Paula.
Tristan’s Project, was cleaning up the Werts cemetery in West Renovo. Over the 8 years of scouting Tristan has been able to achieve 26 merit badges, three of those years, he attained perfect attendance. His presenters were his grandparents, Rich and Millie Aber. Also close at hand were his mother, Heather James, and father, Mike Schelb.
The Guests at the ceremony were, The Reverend John Harwood, Pastor of the Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, and Trinity Episcopal Church. Pastor Richard Colvin from the Christian Community Church and his wife, Denise Colvin. Lt. Col Donald Miller, of the USMC, Ret. And his wife, Eloise. John Tarantella, Marine Corps League, and his wife Mary Ann. Kevin Rauch, of the Lock Haven Express. Dave Flack and wife, Carla. Dave Watt, Zion’s Lutheran council President.
