Elling Receives PIAA Award of Merit

HERSHEY — Tom Elling of Lock Haven was honored before the PIAA wrestling finals last Saturday with the organization’s PIAA Award of Merit. Only three such prior recognitions had been made in Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association history. Bob Lombardi, the organization’s executive director, made the presentation, thanking Elling for his over 40 years’ involvement in staging the Northwestern Regional wrestling tournament.

Lombardi also praised Elling for his work in modernizing the administration of state wrestling tournaments. Elling is a retired teacher/counselor/coach in the Keystone Central School District and a Record newspaper contributor.
