PIAA AAA Wrestling Quarterfinal Round
HERSHEY – In all, District 6 sent 16 wrestlers to the state tournament while District 4 advanced four, all from the NW Regional. Half of all those wrestlers have been eliminated from the tourney going 0-2 in the preliminary and first consolation rounds.
For Central Mountain, Demetri Probst (145) will do his best to get past 2013 PIAA champion, Soloman Chishko, Canon McMillan, and Chad Reese will have a tough challenge in the quarterfinals from Garrett Peppelman, Central Dauphin, 2012 PIAA champ and 2013 PIAA runner-up.
Chishko was the SW Region champ who advanced to the quarterfinals with a tech fall over Ethan Stever, Exeter Township, the fourth place finisher from the SC Region.
Peppelman, the SC Region champ, whose family is not unfamiliar with facing Wildcat foe in Chocolate Town advanced to the quartfinals with a 12-3 major decision over Dominic Scalise, Greater Latrobe.
We will post results of District 6 and District 4 wrestlers from this round as the action continues. Wrestling is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
Quarterfinal Round
113 – Derek Gulotta, Owen J. Roberts, pinned Chris Thompson, Philipsburg-Osceola, 3:47. Thompson will face Dustin Stefenino, Upper Perkiomen, in the second consolation round.
120 – Scott Parker, Pennridge, tech fall Roshaun Cooley, Williamsport, 5:38 (17-2). Cooley will face Jake Gromacki, Cathedral Prep, in the second consolation round. Cooley lost 7-0 to Gromacki in the NW Regional finals.
138 – Mike Kemerer, Franklin Regional, dec. Hayden Hidlay, Mifflin County, 7-4. Hidlay will face Joey Alessandro, Hempfield Area in the second consolation round.
145 – Soloman Chishko, Canon McMillan, major dec. Demetri Probst, Central Mountain, 17-6. Probst will face Chad Wickard, Big Spring, in the second consolation round.
152 – David Hollingshead, Altoona, dec. Jake Shaffer, Greater Latrobe, 3-0. Hollingshead will face TC Warner, Cumberland Valley, in the semi-finals.
160 – Garrett Peppelman, Central Dauphin, tech fall Chad Reese, Central Mountain, 4:37 (19-4). Reese will face Gregg Harvey, Boyertown in the second consolation round.
220 – Bo Spiller, Solanco, pinned Dwayne Pepper, Shikellamy, 2:29. Pepper will face David Wuestner, Lower Dauphin, in the second consolation round.

138 – Hayden Hidlay, Mifflin County, dec. Joey Alessandro, Hempfield Area, 5-2. Hidlay will face Cortlandt Schuyler, Manheim Township, in the third consolation round. Demetri D’Orsaneo, Owen J. Roberts, dec. Mike Kauffman, State College, 5-0.
145 – Chad Wickard, Big Spring, dec. Demetri Probst, Central Mountain, 5-1.
152 – Jake Shaffer, Greater Latrobe, dec. Noah Stewart, Mifflin County, 3-1.
160 – Chad Reese, Central Mountain, dec. Gregg Harvey, Boyertown, 5-1. Reese will face Matthew Carr, Abington Heights , in the third consolation round.
220 – Dwayne Pepper, Shikellamy, dec. David Wuestner, Lower Dauphin, 3-2. Pepper will face Fred Mantsch, Hempfield Area in the third consolation round.
Wrestling will begin for AAA Saturday morning at 9 a.m. with the semi-finals and consolation quarterfinals conducted simultaneously.
