Helen R. Fisher, 77, of 31 Wright St., Flemington, died Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Lock Haven Hospital.

Born May 13, 1936 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Clifford and Ellen Esther Pittinger Laylon.

On Sept. 3, 1956 in Williamsport, she married Denny G. Fisher, who survives.

Helen first worked for Bloomsburg Mills and then for the Lock Haven Laundry Company. She retired as a seamstress for Woolrich Woolen Mills.

She was a member of the Flemington First Church of Christ.

She was an avid and accomplished baker.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Edward D. (Judy) Fisher of Jersey Shore and Steve W. (Rose) Fisher of Lock Haven; four sisters, Lloyanne Fluman of Williamsport, Doris Neidig of Cogan Station, Ellen Kay Winters of Mosquito Valley and Norma Lee Gearhart of Levittown; three grandchildren, Shane (Christy) Fisher, Yvonne (Craig) Martin and Lacie (Justin) Brennies; and six great-grandchildren, Seth Zerby, Shayna Zerby, Logan Fisher, Alyssa Fisher, Emmitt Brennies and Joanie Rae Brennies.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, five sisters and a grandson, V.J. Fisher.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Flemington First Church of Christ with the Rev. Mark Riley officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall. Friends will be received at the church on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Flemington First Church of Christ.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, 231 High St., Flemington.
