CAMP HILL – The 96th Annual Convention of the American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) Department of Pennsylvania was held at the Radisson Penn Harris, Camp Hill, PA on July 14th-16th 2016. Local ALA members are pictured with incoming 2016-2017  Department of Pennsylvania ALA President, Esther Geter, Philadelphia and 2015-2016 National American Legion Auxiliary President, Sharon Conatser, from Illinois.

National ALA President, Sharon expressed her theme of “Keeping The Promise” the promise that “ALL” members make when they chose to become members of the American Legion family, to always honor our Veterans and military. She chose Auxiliary Emergency Fund (AEF) as her President’s Project. AEF is a fund that’s available to help eligible ALA members who suffered a significant financial setback as a result of an act of nature or other personal crisis. Unit members helping Unit members are what the Auxiliary Emergency Fund is all about.

Many awards and certificates of participation were awarded to the many ALA members who volunteer in the “Spirit of Service Not Self” for the many programs for our veterans, our troops, their families, our children and youth, our communities and our Homeless Veterans.
