Keystone Falls 7-2 to Capitol City
BRISTOL, CONN – Not today. The Keystone Little League never did get untracked against Washington D. C. champion Capitol City, losing by a 7-2 score.
The game was tight, 3-2 CC into the bottom of the fifth, when the Washington took advantage of two errors and three walks plus a bases-clearing single to post four insurance runs en route to the 7-2 final.
Two CC pitchers held Keystone to a season low six hits and two runs. Cy Probst accounted for both with a first inning double and a fourth inning homer which gave Keystone a 2-2 tie at the time.
Other hits came from Aiden Major with a triple and singles from Blade Myers, Nate Welch and Aaron Miller.
Major, the second of four Keystone pitchers, took the loss. They held Capitol City to five hits but were hampered by seven walks.
The defeat drops Keystone into a Tuesday 4 p.m. game with Freehold of New Jersey. The team would have to win Tuesday, Thursday and Friday to get to the Mid-Atlantic title game next Sunday.
