Three Local Gymnasts Place at States

MOON – Four local gymnasts competed at the PA Classic Competition held at Moon High School last weekend and three came home with medals.

Hannah Bowes represented Bucktail High School in the Silver Division and placed fifth on Vault with a personal best score of 8.867 and 11th on Uneven Bars with a score of 7.7.

Mary Ballat represented Central Mountain High School in the Silver Division and placed 12th on the Vault with a personal best score of 8.683 and second on Uneven Bars with a score of 8.0. Jessica Hefferan who represented Central Mountain in the Bronze Division took ninth on bars with 7.100, fourth on floor with 8.333 and ninth in the All Around with 30.450.

Courtney Brittan, who represented Maranatha Mission Learning Center, competed on Vault in the Bronze Division and scored 7.833.

All four gymnasts compete locally for the Lock Haven Area YMCA gymnastics team. The team has two more competitions, this Saturday at the Lock Haven Y beginning at 9:30 a.m. with Garver Memorial YMCA and at the AMGL Championships Feb. 29 at the Garver Memorial YMCA in Roaring Spring.
