Lady Wildcats Cruise 6-0 over Shikellamy

cm-softballSUNBURY – Central Mountain scored three runs in the top of the first, and cruised to a 6-0 shutout at Shikellamy. Sophomore, Caitlyn Brush pitched  the complete game, scattering seven hits and only allowing one runner past second base the entire game. Brush also improved her pitching record to 6-0 on the season.

The top of the CM order got things going in the first inning, as lead-off hitter Josie Dershem singled, and Madison Brown followed with an RBI double. Skylar Smith singled in Brown. Sarah Reeder grounded into a fielder’s choice erasing Smith, but Emily Strouse followed with a 2-out single to plate Reeder. In the 5th inning, Brown and Autumn Young hit back to back singles, and Reeder then drove them both in with her 2nd hit of the day, making the score 5-0.  In the 6th, Brush helped her own cause with a lead-off double and courtesy runner, Averie Pringle, eventually scored on a Maegan Miller RBI ground out.

The Lady Wildcats move to 16-2 on the season.  The Cats’ will travel to Mifflinburg on Monday for a PHAC showdown.  Tuesday, CM will complete their regular season finale at home with Jersey Shore. The District 6 AAAA playoff seeding should be released on Wednesday, May 18, with the semi-finals of District 6 AAAA play beginning on May 23.
