CCSWA Awarded $41k for Recycling Efforts

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Mike Hanna (D-Lock Haven) said the Clinton County Solid Waste Authority has been awarded a $41,108 grant from the state for its recycling efforts.

The grant is based on the 6,207 tons of materials recycled in 2011 and the county’s population.

Hanna said the funding was awarded from the Recycling Performance Grant Program and administered by the state Department of Environmental Protection. The program provides incentives to help Pennsylvania communities with increasing the amount of materials recovered through recycling.

The grant is in addition to the funds that DEP allocates to municipalities to establish and maintain recycling programs.

More information about recycling and the grant program is available on the DEP website,www.depweb.state.pa.us.
