Braves Clip ‘Cats
SUNBURY – The Shikellamy Braves (7-8) pummeled the Central Mountain boys’ basketball team (4-8) team with 3-pointers Monday night and came away with a 57-45 home court victory.
Three different Braves had three 3-pointers each; coupled with a 17-6 surge in the third period Shik pulled away for the win.
It was a 26-24 halftime lead for Shikellamy but period three was too much for the Wildcats to overcome.
Tyler Everhart was the only Wildcat in double-figures with 12, Wes Jolley next with 8 points.
Central Mountain also lost another of its many road games last Friday by a 71-57 count at Bald Eagle Area (11-2).
The road trip was to continue on Wednesday of this week at St. Marys (6-9), followed by a home contest next Monday with Altoona (4-7).
Jayvee action on Monday saw Shik on top by a 65-55 score, Landon Breon pacing the Central Mountain jayvees with 22 points.
