Rt. 64 Bridge Replacement to Start Tuesday

penndot-alertCLEARFIELD – Bridge replacement work on Route 64 in Lamar Township, Clinton County will get underway Tuesday, March 1, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). The bridge spans Fishing Creek, near the village of Lamar.

Replacing the bridge will remove it from Clinton County’s structurally deficient list and provide area drivers with a new, modern structure.

Preliminary work will begin March 1, including sign setting, and signal installation. Beam repair on the bridge was completed in 2015, allowing for a phased construction approach as the bridge is replaced this year. Starting March 8, traffic signals will enforce an alternating traffic pattern across the bridge, using a single, 12-foot lane.

Work will include construction of a single-span, composite concrete box-beam bridge, paving, guide rail installation, and miscellaneous items.

PennDOT expects the new bridge to be complete by late October, with the traffic restriction in place through completion. All work is weather and schedule dependent. LTT Trucking, LLC of North Bend is the contractor on this $1.9 million project.
