Janice Mayers Kesterson – Obituary
She was born September 4, 1941 in Renovo to the late Leon and Margaret Gallagher Mayers. She was a 1959 graduate of the Renovo High School and a member of the North Bend United Methodist Church since 1953.
Janice spent the majority of her career as a secretary at the Jersey Shore Steel Mill, beginning there in 1967 and staying until her retirement.
She loved her family and always enjoyed dressing immaculately. She enjoyed Penn State sports, Phillies baseball and decorating her house for the seasons. She was known for her shopping and her love of her dogs and was an excellent cook, as can be attested to by her brother, Neal.
In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by a brother, Gene. She is survived by a brother, Neal R. Mayers of North Bend, 3 sisters; Lois (Harry) Gentzyel, Lock Haven, Evelyn (Rev. Robert) Pickering, and Margaret Shirk, both of North Bend. Also surviving are 4 nieces and 5 nephews.
Services honoring the memory of Janice Kesterson will be held Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016 at 12 Noon in the North Bend United Methodist Church with Pastor Doug Conway and Rev. Robert Pickering officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hr. prior to services in the church.
The family will provide flowers and suggests memorials to the SPCA or the North Bend United Methodist Church through the funeral home.
