LOCK HAVEN– Helen M. Erway Pelkey, 73, formerly of 350 Huron Ave., Renovo, PA, died Friday, Jan.10, 2014 at the Susque-View Home, Lock Haven, PA. A daughter of the late Kenneth and Mae Dunham Erway, she was born Sept. 22, 1940 in Elmira, NY.

Helen had attended schools in the Renovo School system. She had been a waitress, bartender and cook, having worked at the Cross Fork Hotel, Erma’s Restaurant, Cross Fork, PA. Helen also enjoyed writing poems, short stories, painting and dancing. Helen also was known for her writing of news articles for The Record and the Lock Haven Express. She also enjoyed going to flea markets.

Helen had one sister: Sharon Lee Kramer who preceded her in death in 2008.

She was blessed with two granddaughters: Kayona and Misty Green as well as three great grandchildren: Kylie, Owen and Adonakah and nieces and nephews. Helen is also survived by a special niece, Delores M. Baker, Nicholson, PA.

Services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family with no public visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kettle Creek Ambulance Assoc. or the Kettle Creek Hose Co.
