cm-basketballBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – It came down to the wire. Central Mountain battled back and forth for much of the first half with the lead for either team never going much beyond six points.

In the third quarter, after trailing by three, 19-16 at the half, the Wildcats found their rhythm and out paced the Beavers 19-7 to go up 35-26 to head into the final period.

Slowly, DuBois inched their way back from their deficit knotting the score at 35 all with 1:45 remaining in the game.

Central Mountain was stifled on offense for much of the fourth quarter not having a single point to show for their effort.

After battling for turnovers back-and-forth for a few possessions, the Wildcats finally received a break. Travis Turchetta pulled up and released a three-point jumper from downtown that sank putting the CM up 38-35 with 17.5 seconds remaining on the clock.

DuBois failed to answer back on their turn on offense with a shot bounding off the backboard turning the ball over to the Wildcats. The Beavers called a time out and summarily fouled Tyler Everhart who sank both his one-and-one foul shots to seal the victory with a five point margin, 40-35, with only 3.4 remaining in the contest. DuBois attempted a desperation shot at the buzzer which fell wide ending the game.

On the night, Everhart tallied 15 points including two three-pointers. Travis Turchetta added 10 points to the cause also dropping two threes on the night. Tanner Meeker contributed nine points with one score from beyond the arc. Kyler Klien, Nicholas Moore and Brody Baker each scored two points for the Wildcats.
