Lady Wildcats Topple Troy 63-30

cm-basketballMONTOURSVILLE – After falling to Williamsport 47-25 in the first round, Central Mountain bounced back in a big way and found their offense to capture third place in the Montoursville Holiday Tournament by defeating Troy 63-30.

The Lady ‘Cats jumped out to a commanding 17-2 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Troy did manage to hang with CM in the second quarter nearly matching the Lady Wildcat’s effort 13-12 but were still trailing 30-14 at the break.

The third quarter was the most productive for Central Mountain where they once again displayed their dominance over the Lady Trojans outpacing them 24-2 to take a 54-16 lead heading into the final period.

Troy managed to bolster their standing a bit in the fourth quarter outscoring the Lady Wildcats 14-11 but the CM lead was insurmountable.

Twelve different papers scored to Central Mountain led by Julia Novosat with 14, Averie Pringle with 12 and Elaina Eckley with 9.

Lydia McCaleb, 6; Lauren Hoy, 5; Grayson McCloy, 4; and Alexis Anastos scored 3 points.

Sadie McCaleb, Emily Strouse, Bethany Dolan, Autumn Young and Dayna Fourney all contributed 2 points each for the Lady Wildcats on the night.

Central Mountain is off for the holiday break and will see their next action at home vs. Jersey Shore on Jan. 4, 2015.
