Late Rally Not Enough For Wildcats
COAL TOWNSHIP – Central Mountain struggled early on the road against Shamokin, then rallied late in the final period, but it wasn’t enough as the Indians prevailed 62-46.
Barely breaking double-digits on the score board for the first half, CM trailed Shamokin 34-13 at the half. Then tried to pick up the pace in the second half mostly keeping pace with the Indians trailing 51-24 after three quarters.
The ‘Cats finally found their offense in the final 8 minutes, though, try as they may, the Shamokin lead was just to far to for Central Mountain to close the Gap. The Wildacts doubled up on Shamokin 22-11 in the effort for the last period.
It was a total team effort offensively with nine players contributing points, though no one broke double digits.
Leading the way was Brody baker with 9, Nick Carpenetti and Kyle Everhart with 7 each. Cole Reeder and Alex Garbrick each scored 6 points while Wyatt Koch had 4 and Justin Neff netted 3. Wyatt Bumbarger and Landon Breon each contributed 2 points to round out the scoring.
Next up for the Wildcats is a trip to Altoona for the Holiday Tournament on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015 for a 32:30 p.m. first round contest.
