LHU Grapplers to WVU Saturday
LOCK HAVEN – The Lock Haven University wrestling team is set to travel to No. 25 West Virginia for a 7 p.m. match on Saturday.
The Bald Eagles are 2-4 this season and coming off a second-place finish at the last weekend’s Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships. LHU crowned two champions and had three guys place second. Leading the way was Bobby Rehm (133) and Aaron McKinney (157), who both won individual titles.
West Virginia, ranked No. 25 in this week’s USA Today/National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) National Coaches Poll, is 4-2 overall. The Mountaineers have wins over Drexel, Campbell, Arizona State and Buffalo. WVU’s lineup features three nationally-ranked wrestlers.

Last Saturday (12/5), LHU placed second at the PSAC Championships. Nine of 10 Bald Eagles placed, including champions Bobby Rehm (133) and Aaron McKinney (157). Dan Neff (141), Tyler Wood (174) and Tristan Sponseller (184) all placed second for Lock Haven.
Lock Haven finished second for the second straight season. The Bald Eagles were looking to dethrone Edinboro and win their first PSAC title since 2000-01, but came up just short. The Fighting Scots won their fifth straight title with 136.5 points behind six champions. Lock Haven racked up 118 points and Mercyhurst was third (108.5).
Last time vs. West Virginia:
Last season (12/6/14), West Virginia beat Lock Haven, 23-14 in Thomas Fieldhouse. The Bald Eagles won four bouts on the night, including one from Dan Neff, who will be in action on Saturday. A key to victory for WVU was three wins by bonus point.
