Lady ‘Cats Open Season with 42-21 Win
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – New season. New coach. New outlook. 42-21 win.
Change is not something all humans embrace gracefully, tonight the Lady Wildcats basketball program seems to embrace the new season with a different perspective which helped them to garner 42-21 win over visiting BEA. Wins haven’t come easy for the Lady ‘Cats in recent years, though the inexperienced, youthful roster of the past is now a collection of hardworking upper class members with plenty of valuable varsity experience.
CM jumped out to a 16-4 lead in the first quarter followed by a 23-8 advantage at the break. Then the Lady Wildcats took a little longer to hit their stride in the third quarter where BEA outscored the hosts 11-6 to make the score 29-19.
Then the Lady ‘Cats found their rhythm in the fourth period outpacing BEA 13-2 to earn finish out the scoring for the 42-22 win.
Lydia McCaleb led the way with 10 points, Julia Novosat netted 7, followed by Averie Pringle and Grayson McCloy each with 6. Emily Stouse scored 5, Elaina Eckley had 4 while Alexis Anastos and Dayna Fourney each contributed 2 points.
