PSU Wrestlers Maintain No. 1 Ranking

psu-wrestlingUNIVERSITY PARK – The Penn State Nittany Lion wrestling team (4-0) remains the top-ranked team in the country in the Dec. 1 release of InterMat Wrestling’s Tournament Power Index (TPI). Penn State sits in the No. 1 spot with 109.0 points while Oklahoma State is in second at 101.0.  Iowa is third at 88.0.  No other team topped 80 points in this week’s TPI.
 
Senior Morgan McIntosh (Santa Ana, Calif.) is ranked No. 1 at 197 with a 4-0 on the year and sophomore Zain Retherford (Benton, Pa.) is ranked No. 1 at 149 with a 4-0 mark to lead Penn State’s nine ranked wrestlers.  Red-shirt freshman Jason Nolf (Yatesboro, Pa.) is ranked No. 3 at 157 with a 4-0 record and senior Nico Megaludis (Murrysville, Pa.) is ranked No. 4 at 125 with a 3-1 record.

Junior All-American Jimmy Gulibon (Latrobe, Pa.) is ranked No. 6 at 141 at 2-2 while red-shirt freshman Bo Nickal (Allen, Tex.) is ranked No. 6 at 174 at 4-0. Senior All-American Jordan Conaway (Abbottstown, Pa.) is ranked No. 8 at 133 with a 4-0 record and sophomore Matt McCutcheon (Apollo, Pa.) is ranked No. 13 at 184 with a 4-0 record.  Red-shirt freshman Shakur Rasheed (Coram, N.Y.) rounds out Penn State’s ranked wrestlers with a No. 20 ranking at 165 and is 2-2 on the year.
 
Penn State will take part in the Nittany Lion Open on Sunday, Dec. 6 in Rec Hall, beginning at 10 a.m.
