John L. “Jack” Bruno
John L. “Jack” Bruno of Renovo passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Bucktail Medical Center, Renovo.

Born in Renovo on May 25, 1932, he was the son of the late Louis R. and Anna (Redis) Bruno.

Jack graduated from Renovo High School in 1950.

He worked as an apprentice in the PRR Shops before enlisting in the United State Air Force.

John served in Guam in the 13th Vehicle Reconstruction Squad.

After leaving the service, he attended St. Francis College in Loretta, Pa and graduated from California State College in California, Pa.

His career as an Industrial Arts teacher began in Glen Rock and Lock Haven before coming to Renovo/Bucktail High School in 1964. He loved his work and his students. He retired in 1982.

Jack’s goal in life was to see the improvement of his communities and started the P.R.R. organization which is taking on projects he envisioned. He was a dedicated hospital board member at the Bucktail Medical Center and a former South Renovo Borough Council President.

Jack was a great letter writer.

He loved the outdoors, especially the family camp in Kettle Creek.

Jack was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Renovo.

He was also a member of the Western Clinton County and Kettle Creek/ Tamarack Sportsman’s Associations, the Lock Haven American Legion, and the Renovo Son’s of Italy.

Surviving is his sister, Joan Sauter of Olean, NY; a number of nieces and nephews; a special nephew, Andy Sauter; numerous cousins; and a special lady friend, Sally Vroman.

Jack is also survived by his sister-in-law, Maryann Bruno of St. Joseph, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Frances Sell; and a brother Donato “Donnie” Bruno.

Jack’s warm personality and his ability to make friends will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A Memorial Mass will be announced upon completion.

Burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery will take place at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Bucktail Medical Center Memorial Fund or a charity of your choice.
