LOCK HAVEN – One arrest has been made as Lock Haven police continue what they call an “active” investigation into a daylight shooting just off Bellefonte Avenue last Friday afternoon.

The shooting left a Lock Haven man, 26-year-old James Davis, in stable condition at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

According to a brief written report from city police, they have arrested Jaermel Wilson, 35, of 35 Barnes St., Hazleton, and charged him with receiving stolen property, a firearm, and persons not to possess a firearm.

Wilson is incarcerated in the Clinton County Correctional Facility with bail set in the amount of $250,000.00.

The police report said Davis was shot “multiple times” outside a home in the 100 block of W. Park St. just after noon on Friday.

Witnesses said a white truck pulled onto Park Street near Davis who was walking down a nearby alley. There were reported to be several occupants of the vehicle and witnesses said one got out and shot the victim with a handgun, jumped back in the vehicle, which fled away.

An alert for the vehicle was circulated and police were able to pull it over near the McElhattan Exit of Route 220 minutes later and three occupants were taken into custody and to Lock Haven’s City Hall for questioning.

Later police said Wilson was being charged with the weapons offenses, the others questioned set free.

The truck was impounded and is at the city’s public works facility at Walnut and E. Park Sts.

City police reiterated their investigation is ongoing and requested anyone with information to contact them.
