LHU Football Downed at Seton Hill

lhu-footballGREENSBURG – The Lock Haven University football team (0-2) fell behind early and never caught up as the Bald Eagles fell to host Seton Hill (1-1), 27-10 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover action.

Trailing 27-3, LHU’s Caleb Walton (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) threw a fourth-quarter touchdown pass to Dan Krupko (Homeworth, Ohio/Urbana University) with 8:23 left in the game, but Lock Haven’s offense couldn’t produce any more points down the stretch.

The TD pass was the 27th of Walton’s career moving him into sole possession of the No. 4 spot on Lock Haven’s career list, just one away from third all-time.

Walton finished 20 of 42 for 244 yards. The 244 yards also moved him up in the career passing record books. He now has 3,770 career passing yards, which puts him No. 6 all-time.

Krupko’s TD catch was the first of his career after transferring to LHU in the offseason.

Shawn Seif (Harrisburg, Pa./Kutztown Univ.) and David Cook (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) both pulled in six catches, going for 83 and 74 yards, respectively.

Rahjeir Miles-Eubanks (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) and Daniel Strawbridge (Harrisburg, Pa./Harrisburg) both had 12 tackles for the Bald Eagles.

Seton Hill connected on two first-quarter field goals and led 6-0 after 15 minutes.

Lock Haven cut the SHU lead to three after Alex Boumerhi (Philipsburg, Pa./Philipsburg-Osceola) nailed a 20-yard field goal with 3:06 left in the first half.

Seton Hill tacked on three TDs and led 27-3 with 11:46 left in the game.

Krupko’s 15-yard touchdown reception capped a 13-play, 82 yard drive (3:16) late in the game.

The Bald Eagles hit the road for the second straight weekend next Saturday (Week 3; September 19) when they travel to IUP for a 1 p.m. kickoff. IUP edged Lock Haven 21-16 in Week 3 last season.
