Renovo Terminates Police Chief


RENOVO  – Renovo borough council met on Monday of this week and terminated police chief Steve Belinka. At the same time council hired two new officers expected to be on duty later this week or early next week.

Belinka had been hired last year. While no one would publicly comment on his dismissal, it is understood Renovo council was not happy with his performance.

A police committee member said the two new officers will be full time; one is from Lancaster, one from Hershey. Until they are on duty, police protection will be provided by state police.
