PINE GROVE — The Keystone 9-10 all-stars spotted Tunkhannock a couple first inning runs, then went on to post a resounding 17-3 win over the District 15 champions in their sectional opener Monday evening.
Down 2-0 after one, Keystone started hitting and never stopped, ending with 17 in all. Chase Brush led the offense with a 3-for-4 evening with two doubles, Cruson Stover was 2-for-3 with a double, Matt Conklin going 3-for-5 including a double and a homerun. Others contributing to the hit parade were Levi Schlesinger with a 3-for-4 night, Bralen Corter 3-for-5 and Gabe Johnson, 2-for-2.
Ashton Probst picked up the win in relief. The District 12 champs will be back in action in the winner’s bracket final at 8 p.m. Tuesday versus the winner of the Upper Dauphin – Danville late game on Monday.
A win Tuesday would put Keystone in the 5:30 p.m. championship game Thursday; a Tuesday loss would mean a Wednesday loser’s bracket final at 5:30 p.m.
