key-base-logoSOUTH WILLIAMSPORT – The history and tradition of District 12 Little League if chock full of legendary rivalries and hard-fought contests to crown the tournament champion. The 2015 edition of the 10-11 All-Star battle is no exception.

These two teams faced each other just this past Sunday on the Hepburn field for the winner’s bracket final in a tightly fought contest until Keystone made a break late in the game for an 8-6. Then Montoursville had to battle back against Loyalsock to once again face Keystone in the District final at Volunteer Stadium.

Last Sunday, Keystone threw the duo of Kaden Falls to start, then Cy Probst to come in for the save. The tandem proved successful then, but would stumble slightly this Friday evening. Falls kept Montour from scoring for four full innings, but as he reached his allowed number of pitches, Probst was called upon to close out the inning, this time Montour would battle back with a couple of hits and take advantage of a few walks to set up a five run effort to take the lead 5-1.

To quell the bleeding, Keystone called upon Brady Bendik to finish out the fifth inning.

In the top of the sixth, Keystone rallied with a hit, a couple of walks to plate three runs of their own, however, the rally came up short before the side was retired and ended the game.

The teams will meet at Volunteer Stadium Saturday, July 18, 2015 for a winner-take-all tie breaker game. With both squads going deep in their respective bull pens, tomorrows game should be rather interesting as both squads a re well coached and play hard.
