If you’re thinking cookie, think Christmas in July …

Christmas in July is only two weeks away. The cookie bakers among you can show off your favorite Christmas cookies next month at the Christmas in July celebration on July 25 at the Flaming Foliage lot in Renovo. There is no charge to enter the contest. Just bake your favorite (Or try a new one) cookies and take them the FFF lot. The Christmas in July is the first of what could possibly be an annual festivity for Renovo. There will be assorted games and activities and vendors will be on hand. Vendors are welcome – there is no vendor fee. The annual cow pucky event will also be held July 25. And an event it is. A live cow is the star of this attraction.

The lasagna mobile …

Rumor has it, not a clue if it’s true, but I heard a rumor this week that Renovo’s own Charles Maxwell once owned the coolest lasagna-bile in the area. The word is that Charlie had a brand new Plymouth (this was some years back, back in the day) and he was delivering a carload full of pizzas in the new vehicle. Somehow, the rumor goes, he managed to back the car into a large culvert and in doing so caused the pizzas to splatter all over the inside of the vehicle. I’m not sure what color the car was but I gather the interior color was pizza red.
