KCSD Region VIII Vacancy
Candidates Interviews Aug. 5

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP — The Keystone Central School Board in early August will be interviewing the two November candidates seeking to fill the district’s Region VIII short-term vacancy.
Acting board chairman Butch Knauff told therecord-online that Jeff Johnston and Boise Miller will be interviewed Wednesday, August 5 at 6 p.m. in the Central Mountain High School library. The sitting eight board members are to then choose between them at their regular August 6 board meeting.
The board choice will serve through the district’s annual reorganizational meeting in December. Meanwhile Region VIII voters in November will select a permanent replacement for former board president Jack Peters who lost out in the May primary and resigned from the board.
Region VIII is comprised of Flemington borough and Bald Eagle and Castanea Townships. Johnston won the GOP nomination in May while Miller edged Johnston for the Democratic nomination, setting up the November runoff.
