LHU Announces AD Finalists

LOCK HAVEN — Two months after previous athletic director Mark Sherburne announced his resignation, Lock Haven University today released the names of the finalists to replace him:

“The LHU Department of Athletics has announced the open forum dates for its Director of Athletics candidates.

They are as follows –

• Monday, July 20, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. (Ballroom, Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center) | Mr. Todd Garzarelli, University of Buffalo

• Wednesday, July 22, 2015 from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (Ballroom, Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center) | Dr. Tom Gioglio, East Stroudsburg

• Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. (Ballroom, Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center) | Mr. James Fallis, Beat the Streets Wrestling

The forums are open to LHU faculty, staff, and students, as well as the public.”

Sherburne’s resignation was effective June 5. The former Penn State athletic administrator had been hired in May of 2013, beginning his duties on June l of that year. Upon his hire he became the fourth person to direct intercollegiate athletics at LHU in the span of one year. Longtime AD Sharon Taylor had been reassigned from the post at midyear 2012; former assistant AD Peter Campbell served as interim AD until the end of 2012 when the school said he asked to return to the classroom.  LHU staff members Carl Poff and Dave Bower had served in an interim capacity while the search for a new athletic director was carried out.
