key-base-logoBEECH CREEK – The Keystone 9-10 White District team consisted of 4, 10 year-old, and 8, 9 year-olds.

The Players were Nathan Helms, Blaze King, Owen Gill, Dominic Brennan, Jack Hanna, Wyatt Kramer, Caden Culvey, Connor Foltz, Kevin Grenninger, Gavin Burnell, Elek Fravel, and Ben Harrick.

The squad knew going in to district play that it was going to be a tough road against older more experienced teams. They all played very well for being such a young team.

The Keystone 9-10 White District team fought hard in the district 12 bracket. Finding themselves matched with Jersey Shore for the only Pigtail match in the bracket, they took an early lead and dropped the Orange and Black 11-1 invoking the 10 run rule.

With that the Keystone White team won a spot in the bracket in the tournament. Their next opponent was East Lycoming, which they won with a 5-3 decision.

Moving even further in to the winner’s bracket the Keystone White team battled in a toe-to- toe matchup against Mountourville. This time Mountoursville edged Keystone 14-11.

The Keystone White team didn’t give up without a fight. Their last game in district play was Friday night, at 6 pm in Montgomery against Williamsport. Keystone White again fought hard and lost a well-played game 11-6 to Williamsport.

Keystone White may be done vying for the district title, but they are not done playing baseball as a team quite yet. They will be making an appearance in the 9-10 Bellefonte tournament, and the 9-10 Renovo tournament.

Keystone White would like to wish best of luck to the 9-10 Keystone Blue team who are still undefeated in the district 12 bracket, and to the 10-11 (Falls) team, for their run, still in the District 12 winner’s bracket.
