Clinton Falls to Williamsport 10-0

clinton-sb-logoOVAL – Having earned a shot at redemption from a narrow 4-0 loss to Williamsport earlier in the week, the Clinton Junior Softball All-Stars came up short in the effort falling to the Billtown Bunch 10-0.

After playing dead even for three innings, Williamsport jumped out to a 5-0 lead after combining three singles and coming out on the good side of three very close calls and taking advantage of a pair of fielder’s choice situations.

In the fifth inning, it was more of the same for Williamsport as they tacked on another four runs to keep Clinton at bay. A final run crossed the plate in the top of the the seventh to close out the scoring.

Josie Dershem and Skylar Smith shared the pitching duties in the game, each earning a pair of strikeouts in the effort.

Offensively, Marissa Moyer and Cassidy Brush each had a pair of sinlgles on the day, while Josie Dershem, Skylar Smith, Makenzie Peters each and a single for Clinton.

The loss ends the season for Clinton finishing second in the District 12 tournament.
